Thanksgiving Dinner Plate Craft

A few years ago I was looking for a way to make Thanksgiving dinner more special. I was also in search of a way to remember past Thanksgivings and all the things we were thankful for then. What I came up with takes care of both of those things! Now we do this every year! We use the plates from years past to serve Thanksgiving dinner on. Here’s how you do it:

1. Take a porcelain plate, any cheap one will do, and a porcelain 150 pen, or any porcelain paint pen (a Sharpie won’t work!). I bought mine at Walmart.

2. Have your family write down what they are most thankful for that year. Include names and ages and whatever else you like.

3. Bake the plate at 300 degrees F for 30 minutes to let the writing set.

Ta-Da!! That’s it!  I love the way this preserves my children’s handwriting, as well as the Thanksgiving memories. Enjoy! For a list of more Thanksgiving traditions click here.
